In an act that can only be described as a Christmas miracle, my sweet baby Jon Edwards found my Ipod wedged under our mattress tonight (I looked there already!). I contemplated not telling everyone what an idiot I am but I wanted to share the news that there is one less "bad guy" to worry about. Yay.
Thanks to everyone who played, listened and enjoyed the show at 98 Bottles on Friday... what a time we had. HUGE thanks to Dennis Andersen for capturing some amazing shots and to John Blodgett for capturing the show's vibe in the following story:
“If the world were to end tonight, I’m glad to be in bliss,” Brooke Mackintosh told the festive crowd. They had gathered to celebrate the end of the Mayan calendar, the end of the world — and 98 Bottles’ debut as a Listen Local showcase venue.
Brooke and bandmate Sven-Erik Seaholm were among more than 25 musicians who donated their time to perform in a concert hosted by The Homegrown Hour’s Cathryn Beeks and Jeff Berkley. See the full lineup here
“Welcome to the end of the world!” said Cathryn as she got things underway. “It’s a lot colder than I thought it would be.”
The music went non-stop for over four hours and spanned two stages in 98 Bottles’ The Back Room. On the main stage four sets of musicians performed two songs each in the round, while three bands, including Cathryn and Jeff’s own Garbo, played 20-minute sets on the side stage.
The Back Room was packed all night. It was clear everyone was among friends as performers backed one another up. Jeffrey Joe played lead for Joe Rathburn’s cover of David Wilcox’s “End of the World;” Kenny Eng rapped along with Rob Deez; and even the audience got into the act as the clap track for The Peripherals.
As the final set was drawing to a close, Josh Damigo noted “we made it through another apocalypse scare.” And Rob Deez congratulated everyone for still being alive.
“From the Mayan apocalypse comes life,” he said, as he and Jude Thomas ended the night with “Plant my Seed,” their bawdy ballad to knocking someone up.

In case you're wondering how and why I looked so GORGEOUS at the party on Friday, it was all thanks to the team at BlowPop Dry Bar in Horton Plaza. This place is FANTASTIC! Treat yourself for your New Year's Eve event and GO GLAM!

ListenLocalsd.com is on vacation. Peace out.
t's nice to be frugal but also nothing wrong with getting a part time job and buying something a bit nicer. Many teens have p/t jobs and save up for the car they want.
