Sunday 12/2 - The Game at The Go Lounge.  Arrive between 3:30 and 4pm to get your name in the hat, we'll begin drawing at ten after 4.  Unplugged/amplified stage, we'll all be playing songs we wrote to the title TAKING NAMES.  $2 cover keeps the game kicking.  xo

Every year my friend Michelle collects warm clothes and takes them directly to the homeless on the streets.  THIS FRIDAY AT THE GO LOUNGE we are collecting winter coats, jackets, sweaters, sweat-shirts, etc. for those in need this winter.  Please check your closets (and ask a friend too) and bring something warm to add to our collection box at The Go Lounge.  FREE STUFF to anyone who brings anything.  Thank you in advance!

From our friends at 98 Bottles:  "I am reaching out to you to tell you about a holiday tradition my family started four years ago. It's a Holiday Hamper party where we put together hampers of all the fresh ingredients families need to cook their own holiday dinner. This year we're woking with the Salvation Army Kroc Center to distribute the hampers to needy San Diego families. Every year we invite everyone we know to join us in what is truly a fun and magical event. Lloyd Pest Control Artist of the Week 11/26/12 SAUCY MONKY

What was the first album you bought with your own money?

Cynthia: heart - little queen                AnnMarie: Probably an Elvis Presley album. As a child I was obsessed with his movies and music and used to try to mimic his dance moves! 

What comes first – music or lyrics? Then what happens?

Cynthia: best case scenario - the main idea comes with the lyrics. like the hook will come with melody & lyric.  for me, the best ideas come as a package, then i flush out the rest.

Annmarie: Usually for me, a melody hook and a lyric come simultaneously and I use that as an anchor. I build the rest of the song around that. In general however, the music is finished faster than the lyrics.

What’s the one thing that listeners would never guess about you?

Cynthia: i love to garden.

Annmarie: That if i see a cricket in my house I will probably call you to come over and get rid of it.  I also haven't a clue how to use a drill or build IKEA furniture. And I can't cook well. Basically, I'll never get a date.

If your fans had to write a sentence or two to describe your music, what would they write?

Cynthia: smart lyrics, catchy tunes, interesting production!

Annmarie:  Catchy indie rock grooves and relatable lyrics?  A fan recently wrote "I often wonder if they broke into my house and took the pages straight out of my journal"

Lloyd Pest Control Artist of the Week 11/19/12 BRYAN B WILLIAM

1) What was the first album you bought with your own money?

A Michael Jackson remix album called "Blood on the Dance floor: HIStory in the Making". So the first time I heard MJ it was a remix album.

2) What comes first – music or lyrics? Then what happens?

It could be either one, followed by the other. What I've learned is that there's no pattern and each time I try to compose something I'm starting over. Getting the result is always done differently.

3) What’s the one thing that listeners would never guess about you?

I got into college on a golf scholarship and studied film.
    

4) If your fans had to write a sentence or two to describe your music, what would they write?

My friend and collaborator Jarel is sitting  next to me. Hey says, "Something about a musical canvas and an acoustic guitar driven foundation. With splashes of folk and r&b influence. You can add jazz in there too, but not just for color's sake."
