Mighty Joe Longa was recently diagnosed with cancer and starts chemo soon. Like many of us, he has no insurance, will be unable to work much and could use help from friends, fans and musical family. The San Diego Music Thing (formerly known as the North Park Music Thing - NPMT) is now in its fourth year and is accepting submissions. This year’s event will be September 9 and 10th. The annual event is presented by the San Diego Music Foundation (www.sandiegomusicfoundation.org), a non-profit organization founded in 1991 to make experiential music programs available to children of need in San Diego County. Musicians from Northern and Southern California and beyond are encouraged to apply to perform at the conference via Sonicbids at www.sonicbids.com/sandiegomusicthing.
