I often hear the same questions over and over- "How do I get real fans to come to shows and not just my friends?" or "How do I get more likes on my facebook page?"
Well now's your chance to ask an expert. Michael Brandvold is a music industry marketing consultant based in California who focuses on the areas of online and social marketing, as well as the all important fan acquisition and retention.
He's worked with artists such as Billy Idol to Britney Spears, and now Michael's agreed to answer some questions for you lucky SD local musicians out there. Have a Q for him? Please email me at Tkinnaman @ gmail.com with your question and stay tuned for our Q and A post.
Don't miss this great opportunity!

Should bands still have a "presence" on myspace even though it's lame and useless?

Definitely looking to build real fan list, not just friend list - although they are hopefully a good source for passing/sharing your info. My question would be what are some top suggestions for driving traffic to your website, and the next step - getting them to sign in, comment, put in their email. Thanks.
