Ten years ago this very day I was getting to know Marcia Claire over a bottle of wine in my sunny kitchen on Ingraham. Afterwards we made our way to a poker party at Christopher Dale’s house and after too many jello shots I made out with my future husband in the room where Jeff Berkley now records hit records and radio shows.
In the years following, Jonny and I enjoyed concerts and camping trips and last minute random gatherings with our crazy amazing group of friends. Along the way we all made music, got married, had kids, got sick, made more music, got better, moved, got older, made plans, moved on. The memories are all attached to photos and files in my computer and for at least the next decade, in my mind. Forever in my heart.
Jonny and I continue to love, appreciate and hang on to each other through this crazy life. Together we work to keep the lights on and the animals fed. We stay positive, laugh a lot and try to annoy each other as little as possible while we dream and make plans for tomorrow. We know that everything can change in an instant so we’re learning not to waste a single second on stuff that doesn’t bring us peace and smiles.
My resolution in this new year is to let go. I welcome this new year with all it’s new stuff. Things and people and places. Opportunities to share all this beautiful music and hopefully make a difference in a life or two. Happy New Year, friends. See you at a show. xo
